About Us
Our family started Will-Acres Farm just south of Joplin, MO in 2001 with the purchase of two registered Red Angus heifers and a steer. Our goal was to produce a solid line of registered Red Angus cattle through our cow/calf operation and top-quality beef for our own consumption and to sell locally. Our Story
As we fine-tuned our breeding practices it quickly became evident that we were outgrowing our resources. In 2007, we moved to our current location west of Goodman, MO nestled in a valley along side Buffalo Creek. Our outstanding Red Angus mommas bred to top of the line semen and locally-purchased registered Red Angus bulls have given us breed consistent progeny that we have sold as replacement heifers and herd bulls. In the fall of 2015, after much research and discussion, we decided to transition our herd from Red Angus to registered Akaushi. MCC 5853 “Hakapaka” was purchased and has become the foundation sire for Will-Acres Akaushi cattle.
Each year on the farm is a different experience but a blessing from God. We are thankful that as the kids have grown and gone off to forge their own lives they still help out when they are home. We look forward to them one day moving home and taking over the family operation.
